Elicia Chamoun is a Registered Social Worker and expert trainer who specializes in working with older adults, people living with dementia and their caregivers. With a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Toronto and a Certificate in Aging and Gerontology from Toronto Metropolitan University, Elicia brings a wealth of valuable expertise to supporting aging adults and their families. Her background in Sociocultural Anthropology provides her with a unique perspective in cultural competency to work with marginalized populations within her community.
Elicia’s dedication and passion for her work are evident in her extensive experience. From developing Alzheimer’s and caregiver-based programs to working in aging technology research, her passion for creating new connections, decreasing social isolation, and supporting innovative projects is what she does best. Her experience in front-line care, assessments, and coordination was strengthened during her time across community care spaces that support seniors to age well at home. She is passionate about making services accessible, inclusive, and creating meaningful connections in the community.
Recognizing the profound impact of dementia, Elicia utilizes her expertise in case management and counselling to provide customized support to individuals and their families. Moreover, her services are widely covered by various health plans, ensuring accessibility for those in need. Beyond her role as a therapist, Elicia excels in curriculum design, research, and evaluation, developing training programs, workshops, and contributing to the advancement of knowledge in her field.
