Nancy is a Registered Social Worker in Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada with 25+ years of experience.

Nancy holds a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from Laurentian University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Dalhousie University.

Nancy has certificates and professional training in Addiction Counselling, Leadership Skills and Development, Restorative Approaches, Conflict Resolution, Insight Mediation, Parenting Coordination, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Arbitration Solution Focused Brief Therapy – Diamond Level 1. Nancy is also licensed to perform private practice Adoption Services in PEI.

Nancy’s social work practice has been predominantly in Northern Ontario and Toronto in the area of child welfare. She has worked in both front-line and management roles. 

Nancy was a provincial compliance auditor for the Province of Ontario where she conducted compliance audits on child welfare agencies with respect to their adherence to policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines for youth in the foster care system.

In Nancy’s clinical practice, she specializes in high conflict, relationship difficulties, workplace injury and return to work, vicarious trauma, management and leadership skill development, and work-life balance. She also provides services to parent(s)/caregivers of LGBTQ2S+ individuals.

Nancy also has a special interest in providing mental health and wellness support to Essential Services including Police, EMS, Fire, and Professional helpers.

Nancy is a facilitator with the Help4Helpers program offered through Your Life Design Inc. which supports professional helpers who may be experiencing stress, burnout and/or compassion fatigue.

Nancy’s approach is nonjudgmental, respectful, grounded, caring, and supportive. She sees the therapeutic relationship as a collaboration tailoring intervention to meet individual needs. She uses evidence-based clinical approaches, and works from a strengths-based anti-oppressive perspective.

Nancy moved to Prince Edward Island, Canada in 2017 and works as a Clinician with the Family Court Conciliation Office where she completes assessments concerning separation and divorce. She is also a volunteer board member with an Island non-profit agency serving children and families.
